I judged a schooling show at DD Performance Horses in Feeding Hills, MA this past weekend. This was my first time judging at their facility and I had a great time visiting with all the friendly riders and volunteers. The barn owns and boards many Friesians and recently won many National and World titles at the IFSHA Nationals in Virginia. It was a challenging start to the day since I started driving at 4:30 am to get there by 8:30. When I got to the barn they were in the middle of moving the entire dressage arena down the field to a drier section. It had poured all night and the footing was too wet. On top of that we had to deal with a lot of wind but luckily it was sunny and fairly warm. We had many Introductory and Training level riders. Luckily we did not go above Training level because the footing would have been too slippery for the lengthenings. They also had other classes during the day including driving, jumping, equitation, and costume. I am excited to see Danielle (owner) and Jamie again at the Equine Affaire. They are doing a quadrille in the Fantasia event with the Friesians. Click here to visit their website: http://www.ddphorses.com/index.html

It was a great show with a little something for everyone. Danielle enjoys making people happy and has her own mamic with horses! I love watching the childrens faces as they ride with such pride on their trusty steeds or glancing at the world champions that were just hanging around preparing for a stroll or a quick strut around the ring. How sweet it all can be and is. So majestic are the friesians and so magical to be in the realm of the horse!
