Currently Sandra is available year round at Isaac Royal Farm in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. Students may trailer in their own horse or ride a schoolmaster trained at IRF. She instructs beginner to advanced dressage riders of all ages. She also has a background in jumping and teaches her younger students to balance properly for safety and good technique.
All private and semi-private lessons must be scheduled directly with Sandra in person or by phone. Please call at least a week in advance for availability. Students should plan on arriving at the farm 15-30 minutes before their lesson to brush and tack up their horse. Lessons begin on time and end on time so it is the responsibility of the student to be ready to recieve their full hour of instruction. Any assistance getting ready for new or younger students will be included in their lesson. Students are expected to be helpful in the barn during any extra time spent before/during/after their lesson. This will teach riders horsecare and responsibility for their horses. A positive attitude is expected as well as open communication so that both instructor and student enjoy the learning process. Prices are as follows:
There are currently positions open for a working student. This student must have experience with horses and be hard working. The age requirement is 16 years old. Working student will be expected to help with the following: graining in the morning and evening, grooming and tacking horses for Sandra, cooling out horses, bathing, holding horses for the farrier, assisting with lessons and camp kids, care of foals and first aid, organizing for shows, cleaning tack and the barn, and other various activities. This working position will teach the student more about horses, give them more experience with different types of horses, and they will be able to earn extra lessons for themselves or a child, training for their horse or for board.
