Sandra is accepted into the USEF "r" Judges Program
Sandra's application has been approved and now she can begin to work
on requirements to become an "r" (recognized) dressage judge.
She will have to do a lot of apprentice judging with approved judges
and go through a training program and testing within the next 2 years.
"I am so relieved to finally move into the next level. It has been 8 years
of hard work and a lot of emotional struggle to get to this level. I am
eager to begin the training and requirements."

Sandra Lectures at the Northeast Horsemen's
Conference & Trade Show
The Northeast Horsemen's Conference & Trade show was held in Augusta, Maine on January 16 & 17, 2010. Sandra gave a lecture on the "Judges Perspective: Training through Second Level". You can watch video clips in the menu left.

"I had a great time interacting with the audience. There was a nice selection
of people from western to dressage. Most had never ridden in a dressage
show so it was quite helpful to see a dressage test from a judges perspective.
I used videos of a Training level 1, First level 1, and Second level 1 tests.
During the rides I talked out loud about what score/comment I would give
and what I was thinking about the ride overall for the collectives at the end
of the test. We also went over the importance of carefully reading the
purpose and directives written on your test so the rider fully understands
what is expected by the judge. It is also important to notice which movements are a double-coefficient so that you can work at perfecting those moves for maximum points. Thank you to everyone who came to support me, especially
to my coach Carole Rose for all that she has done over the years. She also
took photos and video for me so that I could share pieces of my lecture on
my website."

SandraB. Designs debuts new tee shirt design at
the Northeast Horsemen's Conference & Trade Show

The latest horse design by Sandra, "Heartbeat.Hoofbeat" was sold for the
first time at this event. The booth looked beautiful made entirely of wooden display items that were a mixture of antique barrels and freshly varnished natural edge planks. All of the products sold very well and a lot of people entered the drawing for a $50 gift certificate. The lucky winner was Elisa Driscoll of Appleton, Maine and she quickly purchased the "Spirit Horse" hoodie, a customer favorite.
